Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are excited to be hosting our first Field Day on Thursday, June 18 in the morning! This year's event will have a World Cup theme, and students will participate in a variety of fun activities and games at different stations.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help run activity centers throughout the morning from 8:30-11:30AM. No special experience is needed, however, you cannot be supervising activities if you are looking after children in your care.

If you are available to volunteer, windsorpark@cbe.ab.ca and let me know. We would greatly appreciate your support in making this event a memorable experience for our Windsor Park Puffins.

Thank you. We’re looking forward to a fantastic day!

Movie Night:

We had a successful and exciting first annual Windsor Park family movie night on Friday. The students loved the movie and snuggling up with stuffies and friends! Thank you to ALL the parents that helped out with a big thank you to Fiona and Char, Beckie! The clean up was incredible!

The Bug Lady:

Last Wednesday June 3 the Grade 2’s spent half the day with some BIG BEAUTIFUL BUGS with the amazing Georgia from Lady Buggy. We made art following the adventures of isopods, dug in the dirt for grubs, built habitats to impress even the pickiest of bugs, and YES held millipedes and cockroaches. We even met an unfortunate looking vinegarroon (Don’t worry he’s not a scorpion. You can’t judge a bug by his cover!) and of course we also had the chance to hold Sydney the tarantula!

This in school field trip helped kick off our final Science investigation of the year of small crawling creatures and the plants they call home. We are also watching the live metamorphosis of caterpillars into butterflies in our classrooms as well.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all the volunteers that helped make this experience happen for the Grade 2’s. We appreciate you to the moon and back!

Your Grade 2 Crew!

The kids, Ms. Giri, Ms. McCowan, and Ms. Raju
