Farewell to Learning Leader Mr Wes Vanderlinden

Today, we say farewell to an exceptional learning leader, educator, and colleague whose impact on Windsor Park School has made a difference.

As a valued member of our original staff, he played an integral role in the opening of Windsor Park and helped shape the caring, inclusive, and student-centered culture that defines our school today. Throughout his time with us, he has been a calm, thoughtful, and compassionate presence, always placing students at the heart of his work.

He is respected not only for his intelligence and expertise, but also for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to supporting others. Whether working with students, families, or colleagues, he consistently demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed. He has been an outstanding educator, a trusted mentor, a positive role model, and a supportive friend to many.

His leadership, athletic spirit, and ability to navigate complex situations with wisdom and care have enriched our school community in countless ways.

While we are saddened to see him leave Windsor Park, we are excited for him as he begins his new role as a strategist supporting schools across Area 7. This opportunity is a reflection of the tremendous knowledge, experience, and expertise he brings in supporting students with complex learning and social-emotional needs. We know the schools and communities he will serve will greatly benefit from his leadership.

On behalf of the entire Windsor Park community, thank you for your years of service, commitment, and care. We wish you every success and happiness in this next chapter. You will be deeply missed, warmly remembered, and always remain an important part of the Windsor Park story.

This transition has unfolded rather quickly, and saying goodbye is not easy. Windsor Park has become a very special place for me, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of this community.

It has been a privilege to watch our students learn, overcome challenges, discover their strengths, and grow. I am equally grateful for the trust and partnership of our families and for the care and dedication of the staff who make Windsor Park such a wonderful place for children each day.

To our students, thank you for your curiosity, laughter, and for reminding me each day why this work matters. To our families, thank you for your kindness, support, and, most importantly, for trusting us with your children.

It has been a genuine privilege to serve the Windsor Park community. I will be cheering you on and look forward to seeing all that lies ahead.

  • Terry Fox Run Thursday morning on the playground. Families welcome to join. We will begin around 9am

School Open House:

  • Wednesday Sep 23 5:30-7pm
  • Order pizza and a pop through www.healthyhunger.ca You need to order by tonight (Friday Sep 18)
  • Classrooms will open at 6pm for families to come and meet teachers and see spaces
  • There will be sign ups for parent council communication, room parent, school swag and much more!
