With summer holidays just around the corner, students are eagerly counting down the days until they can run free, play with friends, and enjoy some well-deserved time just being kids.
As we look ahead to September, I’m excited to share some updates about the opening of our brand-new Windsor Park School. I know many of you are looking forward to having a safe, vibrant, and welcoming community school right in the heart of the neighbourhood.
First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the Windsor Park principal survey. Your personal thoughts and ideas are truly valued. I’ll be sharing more of your feedback in the fall, but here are a few common themes that emerged:
- A desire for an inclusive, compassionate school community with meaningful opportunities for parent engagement
- A focus on student well-being, emphasizing the values of kindness, empathy, academic success, and active living
- A invitation for leadership that fosters a welcoming, warm, and collaborative environment, built on curiosity, strong communication, and a deep commitment to meeting the needs of every student
As of now, we have approximately 145 students registered from Kindergarten to Grade 3. Our preparations for a successful school opening are well underway, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone through our doors.
Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Elboya and Chinook Park Schools to meet some of the students who will be transferring to Windsor Park. It was such a joy to see their excitement and hear their thoughtful ideas about the transition.
Last Thursday, we welcomed our new kindergarten families to an orientation event. It was wonderful to meet our youngest learners and a few of the families who will soon be part of our school community. Once our school website is active, we’ll be posting the presentation and other helpful information there.
I’m pleased to introduce the team who will be re-opening Windsor Park School. Please join me in welcoming:

In August, we’ll be inviting all families to visit the school once it’s ready. I’ll also be sending out another message when our website and school phone number are active. Thank you for your patience as we finalize the details.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Windsor Park School—a place where every student belongs, thrives, and is celebrated.
Warm regards,
Christine McCrory

Parent Volunteers Needed Immediately
We are excited to open our new school with engaging opportunities for our students. This requires an eager staff and a school community of parents interested in supporting these initiatives with funding. It is important to create strong structures and processes for fundraising and allocation of these funds. The creation of a Windsor Park Fundraising Association will need to be done soon in order to have Corporate Registries approve complete our paperwork. As such, I have initiated an Association Introduction Learning Opportunity to have the forms uploaded by the summer.
I am looking for 5 parents who are willing to take part in a short online meeting, to establish Windsor Park Fundraising Association (or another appropriate name as approved by the group) as a registered society, and sign the initial application. These parents will not need to stay on the Board unless they so choose, once the society is approved and registered. In the fall we would call an AGM to elect (or appoint) the required Directors as per the bylaws created. If you are able to meet online in the next week, please complete this short form and I will contact you.

IMPORTANT! Transportation Registration for the 2025-2025 School Year
Yellow school bus service levels and proposed fees for the 2025-2026 school year have now been posted. The cost will be $360/student or $180 for kindergarten students.
What you need to know:
- Registration is available by logging into your MyCBE parent account and clicking on the Fees, Waivers and Service Registration tile.
- Families must register by Sunday, June 22 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
- Transportation will continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.
Families are encouraged to register by the deadline if they think they will use yellow school bus transportation this fall and are eligible (only parts of the community may apply). You can cancel before the end of September with no financial penalty.
