Remembrance Day Assembly
Our Remembrance Day assembly was a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to our soldiers and veterans. The Grade 1 students prepared a lovely wreath and heart art, while the Grade 2 students created striking “field of poppies” panels and shared their thoughtful reflections on what Remembrance Day means to them. Our Grade 3 students presented In Flanders Fields as a powerful choral speech performance.
We were pleased to welcome over 50 family members who joined us to listen, reflect, and share in this important occasion. A special thank you to our MCs, Jase and Penny, and to our dedicated staff who supported students in preparing such meaningful contributions.
I reminded students to take time on November 11 to reflect on our assembly and the importance of remembrance. We will continue collecting donations for Veterans until Thursday, November 13.
Fall Break
Week of November 10-14, 2025 Students will be off for fall break from Monday to Wednesday (Nov 10-12) with classes resuming on Thursday, November 13 except for kindergarten. Kindergarten resumes on November 17.
School Council Update
Thank you to all the parents who were able to join our School Council workshop on Wednesday with Suzanne from the Alberta School Councils Association. The presentation from the session has been added to our school website under the School Council tab.
Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 19, from 6:00–7:00 p.m. During this meeting, we’ll discuss the formation of our School Council and hold elections for interested parents to take on council roles. Please remember that all parents are automatically members of the School Council, and your voice and involvement are valued and appreciated.
This year, our focus will be on school culture and fostering a strong sense of belonging within our Windsor Park community. I look forward to working together with parents as advisors and volunteers to help shape the school experience for all our students.
More information will be shared next week — save the date!
