“Terry set out on his Marathon of Hope with a belief that Canadians would rally together to fund cancer research,” said Kirsten Fox, Terry’s eldest niece. “Forty-five years later, our family is still deeply moved and inspired to see millions of Canadians running and fundraising in his name.”
Terry Fox Run
Our students participated in our first annual Terry Fox Run at Windsor Park School. Throughout the week students and staff took time to understand the meaning and significance of this event and Terry’s Marathon of Hope. They learned of a true Canadian Hero Students shared personal stories of what it means to persevere and take part in something as a group of caring and empathetic people. Over 10,000 schools take part in this event to continue what Terry started and support cancer research.
Thank you to families that have donated to our fundraiser. At the moment we have raised $848.00! If you are interested in donating, here is the link https://schools.terryfox.ca/112820
Lifetouch Photos
Lifetouch photos are ordered online and will be distributed at school. Photos were sent out last week. If your child was away or will need a retake, these will occur later this year. Stay tuned.
School Council Workshop Cancelled
Our School Council workshop with Alberta School Council Association has been postponed. We will send you a new date when it has been rescheduled. School council and society are integral partners for student success and a welcoming, caring, and safe school environment. We look forward to this partnership and understand the impact it has on a positive, nurturing school climate.
Wishing everyone a fabulous fall weekend.
With kind regards,
Christine
