School news

Students and staff were excited to have classes resume on Wednesday. Everyone was happy to see each other and routines settled in quickly and seamlessly. Our festivities on Friday, October 31 were a lot of fun with an impromptu assembly, school costume parade, and relaxing activities in the classroom. Our staff wish all of the students going out in their costumes to have a safe evening!

Week of November 3-7, 2025

Students will have a full week of learning. Please check out their Google Classrooms for pictures and updates about academic experiences. Library exchange begins this week! We will have a short Remembrance Day assembly on Friday. Students that have uniforms such as Beavers and Guides are welcome to wear them.

Week of November 10-14, 2025

Students will be off for fall break from Monday to Wednesday (Nov 10-12) with classes resuming on Thursday, November 13 except for kindergarten. Kindergarten resumes on November 17.

Funding for Families

The Alberta government has made financial resources available to some families. If your child is 12 or under or your family has a child with an active  Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) agreement  you may qualify for a non-taxable payments for each school day of labour action. Families must apply online

The parent portal for family assistance will continue to accept applications until Nov. 14. Payments will be issued on Oct. 31, Nov. 28 and into December, depending on when applications were received.

Learn more in a letter from the Minister of Education and Childcare posted on our labour action page.

Waivers

No child is ever denied access to an education in the CBE because of an inability to pay. The CBE has a waiver process for families who can’t afford to pay the fees. Visit our Waivers page for more information and the documents required as proof of income or extraordinary circumstance.

Any family needing a waiver is encouraged to apply to the City of Calgary Fair Entry Program to prove income for a CBE waiver, as well as access other benefits of the program. This is optional for families and the CBE will continue to accept other approved documents as proof of income.

Note | Waiver applications are available through your MyCBE account.

Windsor Park School Fundraising Association

Our application has been received by Service Alberta and we are awaiting approval for our new society. This is an important step in becoming a charitable organization, being able to begin fundraising and budget decisions, and enrolling for a casino. Thank you to several parents that have been working to complete this application!
