Welcome Back Assembly

We kicked off the school year with an exciting Welcome Back Assembly on Tuesday! It was wonderful to see all 150 students, including our youngest kindergarten friends, gathered together in the gym. Mr. Grant and Mrs. McCrory treated us to a special song, joined by the talented grade 2 class. Our staff took the opportunity to introduce themselves, and we all learned about being a great audience so everyone can enjoy presentations throughout the year.

Special Visitors

We were honored to welcome Superintendent of School Improvement, Dr. Jennifer Turner, and Director Area 7, David Dyck, who toured Windsor Park this week. They were impressed by how beautiful, clean, fresh, and welcoming our school looks and feels.

Learning Outdoors

Our grade 1 students enjoyed a peaceful nature walk as they searched for signs of fall. Each student selected a “sit spot” where they took time to draw, listen, look, smell, and feel the world around them. They moved quietly like “ninjas,” showing great respect and pride in their school environment.

Looking Ahead

In the coming week, teachers will be sharing their Google Classroom links with families. This platform will provide a direct window into your child’s learning, sharing important updates and classroom activities.

Thank you for being part of our Windsor Park community. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

We’re looking forward to meeting families and proudly sharing our new school and classroom environments.

Terry Fox Run

Windsor Park School will be participating in the Terry Fox run and fundraising campaign. We are grateful for online donations and will be celebrating our efforts. Teachers will be discussing Terry Fox (age appropriate) with students to develop empathy, understand resilience, and recognize what this Canadian hero?

School Council

We are excited to create a new School Council for Windsor Park School. All parents are automatically part of a school council and welcome to attend any council meetings. On October 8 from 6-7:30pm we will be having a workshop hosted by ASCA (Alberta School Council Association) to learn about the role of a school council and discuss roles. There will be lots of opportunities for parents to share in building our school culture, a sense of belonging, and a community of caring individuals. More information will be coming in the next weeks. School council members work together to support and enhance student learning. They provide a way for members of the community to consult with and offer advice to principals and school boards.

School councils are legislated under the Education Act and are mandatory for all schools in the public education system

Student Health Forms

Every year we ask families to complete student health forms if their child has information regarding their health that is important for staff to know. Thank you for sending them back if you have information to share. Sent out on Friday, September 12, 2025.
