Grade 1 Virtual Zoo Visit – Penguin Plunge
Our Grade 1 students had an amazing opportunity to virtually visit the penguins at the zoo! A zookeeper and penguin expert guided students into the penguin exhibit for their very first introduction to these fascinating animals.
Students listened to a story about Napoleon, one of the King penguins, and observed the penguins during feeding time. They asked thoughtful, curious, and clever questions, impressing the zookeeper with their engagement and sense of wonder.
In May, our Grade 1 students will visit the zoo in person to meet the penguins and share the extensive learning they have already begun.

School Council and Society Update
Thank you to all the parents and families who joined our meeting on Wednesday evening.
- Miss Mah shared our School Logo Design Project and its connections to belonging and community.
- Mr. Vanderlinden presented the results from the Student Perception Survey. We will be sharing this data with students during math classes to explore what they wonder about the responses.
- Mrs. McCrory presented the Administrator’s Report.
- Parents discussed the upcoming Family Dance on February 5.
